Refund Policy

Effective date: April 15, 2026

Crypto payments are final once confirmed on-chain — but ordering food isn’t. This policy explains exactly when we refund USDC, when we don’t, and what to do if something goes wrong.

Quick reference

Quote expired before you paid
No funds moved. Nothing to refund.
Order placed and delivered
No refund — order was fulfilled as paid.
We couldn't place the order
Full USDC refund to the wallet you paid from.
Restaurant cancelled mid-prep
Full refund minus any non-recoverable third-party fees.

1. Pre-payment cancellation

Every order has a deposit window (currently 10 minutes). If you don’t send USDC within that window, the order is automatically cancelled. No funds were transferred, so no refund is owed or possible.

You can also abandon the order before paying — close the tab. Nothing happens.

2. Order failed before placement

If we receive your USDC but cannot place the order with the third-party channel — for example, the restaurant has gone offline, the menu has changed, or our automation hits a captcha we can’t solve — we will issue a full USDC refund to the wallet that originated the payment, typically within minutes of detecting the failure. The refund transaction signature is shown on your order page.

3. Order failed after placement

If the order was successfully placed with the third-party channel and then cancelled (by the restaurant or the courier), we will refund the portion of your payment that the third-party channel refunds back to us, less any non-recoverable fees (typically the platform’s service or delivery fee, if it becomes non-refundable once an order is accepted). We’ll tell you the exact amount before issuing the refund.

4. Wrong, missing, cold, or otherwise unsatisfactory food

When food arrives but isn’t what you expected, the third-party channel handles the refund or credit in the first instance. If you escalate to us, we’ll act as your advocate: we’ll claim the refund from the third-party channel on the company account that placed the order, and pass the full recovered amount back to your wallet in USDC.

For obvious courier-error cases (e.g., delivered to the wrong address, never delivered) we will refund first and recover from the courier afterwards.

5. How refunds are paid

All refunds are paid in USDC on Solana to the wallet address that originated the payment. We do not refund to a different wallet, do not refund in fiat, and do not refund in SOL or other tokens.

Refund transactions are subject to a small Solana network fee (less than $0.01) which is borne by us, not deducted from your refund.

6. Timing

Pre-placement refunds (Section 2) are typically issued within 5 minutes of detection. Post-placement refunds (Sections 3 and 4) depend on the third-party channel’s own refund process, which is usually 1–3 business days.

7. Disputes

If you believe a refund decision is incorrect, email support@eatonchain.xyz with your order ID (visible on your orders page) and a brief description. We typically respond within 24 hours.

8. Chargebacks aren't a thing here

On-chain transactions are final. There’s no chargeback mechanism on Solana the way there is with a credit card. That means we both have a stronger incentive to resolve issues directly and fairly. If you’ve been billed but believe a refund is owed, contact us before assuming the worst.
